paste is zero-knowledge. Your text is encrypted in your browser before it is ever uploaded, and the decryption key lives in the link fragment (#…), which browsers never send to a server. We cannot read your pastes.

What the server stores

• The ciphertext and IV — meaningless without the key.
• A random id, the size, timestamps, and your chosen TTL.

It never stores your plaintext or the key. Pastes are deleted automatically when they expire, and immediately on first read if you choose burn-after-reading.

What we do not do

No accounts, no cookies, no analytics, no tracking, no third-party scripts. Your IP address is used transiently only to enforce rate limits and is not stored as part of a paste.

Search engines

Individual paste URLs (/p/…) are disallowed for crawlers via robots.txt.
